Our servers run a variation of Red Hat Fedora Linux called CentOS. CentOS stands for “The Community Enterprise OS” . CentOS includes features businesses need as opposed to a desktop version of Linux. We also use a premium control panel to manage web sites called Cpanel.  With cpanel it very easy to change settings for your web services, email, and so on. Good news, in 2010 we had another huge bump is resources and this means all our plan limits increased again!  Our Hosting plans have undergone a lot of change over the last few months, so be sure to check them closely. Many of the limits have been drasticly increased to more represent the growing disk size of servers.  We have also reduced rates for several plans, especially on the low end.

Split-Shared Hosting:

A normal shared hosting situation can have hundreds (or even thousands) of accounts all sharing the same oversold server, IP address, and system resources. Even companies that do not oversell, persons with accounts on the servers can still experience "Bad Neighbor Effect". This happens when another account of the server takes large amounts of system resources, has the shared IP spam listed, or allows hackers to infiltrate the server.

With our split-shared hosting, we divide our server into VPS (virtual private servers).  The number of sites in a container is limited by their size.  It takes an extra effort on our part to maintain each tiny VPS, but the increased reliability for our clients is worthwhile.

If one of our clients becomes a "bad neighbor", then only a few of our clients are effected and not all of them.  rather than waiting days or perhaps even weeks for the problem to clear up, we can move your website to another container that is problem free, so only the client causing the problem suffers through the repair.  If you've ever been spam-listed because you shared an IP address with people you don't know, you know what I'm talking about.

The end effect are huge reliability increases for our clients and reduced problems.
